Job Posting Title: HVAC Technician Location: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center Additional Posting Details: Monday - Friday with rotational call 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities + Experienced HVAC/R Technician + Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision + Make appropriate decisions in the absence of direct leadership + Work effectively in a team as well as individually as dictated by the situation and management + Responsible for completion to standard of assigned tasks + Responsible for request of supplies, parts, and equipment required to accomplish assigned tasks + Maintain accountability and fiscal responsibility for assigned parts, equipment, and supplies + Perform normal and emergency operation of all engineering and life safety systems of the hospital + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, control, life safety, and HVAC/R equipment as part of a team + Expected to be a subject matter expert, and provide leadership in the area of HVAC/R + Ensure that work sites are left clean, supplies and equipment are maintained, and all assigned assets are accounted for per Engineering Department policy directives + Make periodic inspections, noting general condition, and keeping Engineering Management informed as the needs and/or changes required to keep the hospital in a safe, well maintained condition + Document repair and maintenance records as per Engineering Department policy and directives + Incumbent is prepared to assume responsibilities for the Working Lead should the need arise + Appropriately interpret and follow hospital policies and safety procedures + Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work + Analyze and resolve work problems + As assigned, develop Preventative Maintenance and Operational Procedures commensurate with the Scottish Rite's Policies and Procedure, manufacturer’s recommendations, safety considerations, and good engineering practices Required Skills/Abilities + High school degree or equivalent required + Two-year degree in HVAC, or related Engineering Technology preferred + Trade School Diploma preferred + NATE or RSES Certification required + Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC/R + Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial/hospital HVAC/R work preferred + Dual Duct and Pneumatic Controls experience preferred + Emergency Generator operation experience preferred + Chiller experience preferred + Boiler plant operation experience preferred + Cooling Tower experience preferred + Project Management experience, certification, or training preferred + Formal leadership training preferred + Direct leadership experience preferred + Score appropriately high on a written HVAC test administered by the Engineering Department + Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite + Able to learn and utilize a Windows based Computerized Maintenance Management System ​ At Scottish Rite for Children, we work together with the common goal of helping give children back their childhood.
