HVAC Technician
**Job Title: HVAC Technician** **Job Description** Complete thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on all standard package and split unit HVAC systems that are common among EFO’s light commercial customers. This includes inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, inspection and cleaning of condensate drain lines, testing power/performance of compressor, fan motor, blower motor, testing function and safety of burners/heat exchangers, and function of all safety and operational controls. Additionally, perform general repairs of steam/hot water boiler systems, diagnose airflow and ducting repairs, and ensure safe, efficient, and EPA compliant use of refrigerants. **Responsibilities** + Complete thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on all standard package and split unit HVAC systems. + Inspect and repair/replace belts and pulleys, inspect and clean condensate drain lines, and test power/performance of compressor, fan motor, blower motor. + Test function and safety of burners/heat exchangers and all safety and operational controls. + Perform general repairs of steam/hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting repairs. + Use refrigerants in a safe, efficient, and EPA compliant manner. + Diagnose and repair common mechanical, electrical, or system failure issues on standard boiler, package and split unit HVAC systems. + Perform minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems such as unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing toilet and faucet fixtures as needed. + Experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. + Complete preventative maintenance and repairs per work order requirements in compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. **Essential Skills** + 3 years of HVAC Service Maintenance Experience + EPA Universal Certification + Experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC, painting, preventive maintenance + Electrical and troubleshooting skills + Strong customer service skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Valid driver’s license in good standing **Why Work Here?** Through a process-driven and consultative approach, EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS) tailors customized facilities programs to client properties, ensuring they operate at peak performance levels. They will travel to various sites such as banks, retail stores, and commercial buildings, covering a territory from San Francisco to San Mateo. The shift is from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. After training, candidates will work solo but will report to the regional manager. The workday begins and ends at the residence, traveling to and from job sites. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $40.00/hr.
