HVAC Technician
Description

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, modifying, and inspecting heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment across all casino properties.

Starting wage is $37.86/hr increasing to $39.03/hr at successful completion of 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

Minimum Requirements and Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent HVAC apprenticeship or equivalent technical training Five years of Journeyman level HVAC experience Good driving record and valid driving abstract

Preferred Qualifications:

HVAC Mechanical License CFC Certification Gaming experience

Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position

Essential Functions:

Perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems Install new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications Troubleshoot issues to identify the cause and repair as needed Comply with all safety procedures including applicable Federal, State, and Tribal regulations Coordinate and complete a regular preventative maintenance schedule Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches for new and repair work Coordinate the procurement of supplies and materials as needed Maintain inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when necessary Comply will all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and required safety protocols Perform other duties as assigned

Competencies:

As an HVAC Technician, you will utilize your expertise in commercial and residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to install, repair, and maintain critical equipment throughout Emerald Queen Casino & Hotel properties. Your ability to troubleshoot complex issues, operate hand and power tools, read and interpret blueprints, and provide accurate cost estimates will be essential to ensuring efficient system performance.

Beyond technical skills, success in this role requires strong communication and customer service abilities, as you will interact with various departments and guests while upholding professionalism and courtesy. You must be highly organized, capable of prioritizing tasks, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Critical thinking and analytical skills will be key in diagnosing system issues and implementing effective solutions. Whether working independently or as part of a team, adaptability and a proactive mindset are crucial. Additionally, proficiency in MS Office and other applicable software will support recordkeeping and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting/standing for up to 10 hours per day in a Casino/Hotel/F&B setting Working/walking/climbing indoors/outdoors Reaching/bending/crouching/pushing/pulling Hand eye coordination with finger dexterity Concentrating in loud/busy situations Lifting items up to 75 lbs. Subject to a working in a smoke-filled environment

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

Must be able to pass a pre-employment illegal drug screen and obtain a Class IIIA license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
