Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide general repair to residential and commercial HVAC systems. Repairs to include general repair, belt replacement, hot water systems and ice machine repair. Respond to repairs from the general work order system for a dispersed work site. The Housing Shop HVAC work orders account for approximately 1000 calls for service per year. HVAC Services responds to hot/cold calls, system malfunctions, software issues, and commercial and residential service calls; Performs preventative maintenance inspections and procedures for commercial and residential systems. These inspections are to provide feedback to supervisors and result in the safest and cleanest environments possible for the student and guest populations. Where applicable, assesses any charges for damages to students and guest populations found on these inspections. Performs a leadership role for the Housing Shop’s HVAC shop. Department responsibility for compliance with University Safety, State, EPA and OSHA requirements as related to the HVAC functions.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Graduation from 2 year technical college or equivalent and four years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
EPA 608 Universal Certification
Positions may be required to possess and maintain required certification, licensure, educational level, and/or experience criteria as applicable to the tasks being performed and follow applicable building codes.
