HVAC Technician
Job Title: Service Technician Job Description Performs electrical and mechanical inspection, start-up and controls programming on state-of-the-art, specialized, complex HVAC equipment. Responsibilities + Perform HVAC duties for Startup, Warranty, and Service Support. + Perform electrical and mechanical inspection as well as warranty repair on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance. + Program unit controllers and VFDs to match the design intent and sequence of operations. + Proficient with computer interface for controls setup and possesses a good working understanding of various controls. + Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s). + Effectively document all work performed and inspections, create and track action items, and communicate findings and next steps to relevant team members. + Work effectively in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction. + Submit required paperwork in a timely manner. + Work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times. + Represent the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors, and owners. + Perform other duties as assigned. + Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required. + Keep technical skills sharp for complex HVAC system applications. + Keep your truck organized and clean inside and out. + Perform site surveys to propose work and quality assurance checks. + Prepare service work estimates and methods of procedures. + Coordinate labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, etc. to execute work. + Other duties as they evolve with the business and development of your role. Essential Skills + Proficiency in complex systems, particularly HVAC, mechanical, controls, and site-built systems. + Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, including high/low voltage power circuits, control sequence setup, airflow, refrigeration circuit arrangements, and various heating and hydronic systems. + 2+ years of experience + High School Diploma or equivalent. + EPA certification + HVAC technical education completion or equivalent. + Mechanical skills required to work on a variety of complex HVAC systems including fans, compressors, motor bearings, refrigeration circuits, burner setup, heat wheels, etc. + Current OSHA 10 Training. + Comfortable working around 5-ton to 200-ton package rooftop units under the direct supervision of a Lead Tech. + Moderate PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. + Clean Driving Record with a current valid license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to perform site surveys to propose work and quality assurance checks. + Experience in preparing service work estimates and methods of procedures. + Capability to coordinate labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, etc. to execute work. Work Environment This position offers a supportive work environment with a team of 50 employees. Technicians are provided with a service van and tools. Benefits include 2 weeks paid vacation, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, long and short term disability insurance. Employees work with a variety of clients including mechanical contractors, general contractors, developers, owners, and consulting companies. Flexibility to work overtime or weekends is required. The company values hard work and going above and beyond, and compensates over industry averages. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
