Who You Are:
The (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) HVAC Technician I installs, services, and repairs environmental-control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. This position dispatches from home to different CFX (Central Florida Expressway) facilities/job sites in the area as assigned via a dedicated company vehicle. Frequent presence at the Ocoee office will be required.
What You’ll Do:
Mounts compressors and condenser units on platforms or floors, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.Installs evaporator units in chassis or in air-duct systems using hand tools.Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.Cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment.Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant. Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit.Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source.Installs air and water filters in completed installation.Injects small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and adds Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure.Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.Tests joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solution.Wraps pipes in installation batting and secures them in place with cement or wire bands as applicable to minor repairs.Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units.Performs heating and cooling water treatment checking for target pH and chemical concentration levels as determined by a heating and cooling water chemist and adjusts treatment chemical level as required.Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents.Receive and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, completing forms and checklists manually on paper, and digitally.Provides troubleshooting support and mentorship or guidance to technician teammates.Ascends ladders and lifts, as necessary.Inspect jobs upon completion to ensure areas are clean.Performs all other duties as required.What You’ll Bring:
Possess active EPA 608 Universal License (or able to obtain within 30 days of hire).Possess own position-related hand tools for use on job site.18+ years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s LicenseAbility to park a company vehicle with logos/markers at residenceBe able to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60 lbs.)Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen Ability to obtain facility/site security and access credentials.Be able to work alternate shifts, overtime, nights, and weekends as scheduled or as needed.Comply with company drug and alcohol policy. Compensation
Expected Salary: $22/hr - $31/hr
