Base Pay: $33.55 an hour

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) Mechanic will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process as well as comfort heating and cooling by troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, repair and installation of all tire related manufacturing and comfort heating and cooling HVAC equipment. You will also be responsible for safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair multiple types of chillers and air conditioning systems High pressure centrifugal chillers Low pressure centrifugal chillers Screw compressor chillers Scroll compressor chillers Commercial rooftops Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair steam, electric, and gas fired heating equipment Operate Johnson Controls Metasys building controls program Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed Adhere to all EPA standards concerning the use of refrigerants Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Adhere to Goodyear's attendance policy Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected. Basic Computer skills preferred.
Shift Information: 12-hour shift, New hires would likely be placed onto the night shift.
2-2-3 continuous work schedule (This scheduling allows for some natural overtime and gives a three-day weekend every other week)
Work Environment: Texarkana, AR Plant
The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the factory. The environmental conditions can be hot, cold, and noisy. Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or the Workforce Center's Career Readiness Certification (CRC) with a minimum of Silver Certificate level Must be at least 18 years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations 5 years of HVACR mechanic work experience Completion of formal HVACR classroom training classes from accredited program may be counted in part of experience (no more than 36 months of experience substation allowed) 2 years of Industrial and Commercial equipment experience (Non-Residential) Hold a Type I, II and III certification in accordance to Title 6, Section 608 of the EPA Clean Air Act. Certification must be through an EPA approved program. Hold an Arkansas Class A, HVAC contractor's license within 90 days of transfer into this classification. Failure to obtain and hold this license will result in disqualification.Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tire companies.
