If you are an HVACR technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will provide detailed testing support for our Technical Services Laboratories. You will perform non-routine and complex assignments involving the responsibility for planning, conducting, and completing diverse projects of relatively limited scope. You will work closely with project engineers and team members to develop scenarios, techniques, and guidelines for testing HVAC/R systems and system components. You may assist or train new technicians. You will effectively communicate the status of project assignments to co-workers, management, and engineers. You will use good judgment to manage risk and solve problems.

AS AN HVACR SYSTEMS / FIELD TEST TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

Install and set up heat pumps, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and components for prescribed testing.Install data acquisition instrumentation on HVAC/R systems and system components.Use data acquisition equipment to monitor system operation and performance.Use data acquisition software to setup, program, and calibrate instrumentation devices.Run prescribed Laboratory tests.Design and fabricate special test fixtures.Travel to customer locations to provide service and support for engineering needs.Work in a team environment.Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.Demonstrate conscientious and ambitious behavior.
 

SCHEDULE:

Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday 40 hours per week
We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core ours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Two (2) year technical or associate's degree plus three (3) years of experience in the HVAC/R industry or an equivalent combination of education and experienceHVAC/R systems operation and systems control knowledgeMust be able to perform basic troubleshooting of test equipment and HVAC/R systems and componentsMust be proficient in reading wiring diagrams, both schematic and ladderDemonstrated proficiency in performing test compressor and HVAC/R system installationsMust have good written and verbal communication skillsPC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office toolsAbility to manage multiple projectsMust be able to meet the physical demands of the positionAbility to travel up to 10% of the timeLegal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Associate Degree in HVAC/R plus five (5) years relevant experience in the HVAC/R field or similar lab setting with experience in testing HVAC/R systems and componentsAdvanced HVAC/R systems operation and systems control knowledgeAdvanced troubleshooting skillsExperience with data acquisition equipment and demonstrated ability to utilize PC equipment for data acquisition purposesExperience with Yokogawa data acquisition hardware and softwareAbility to design and fabricate special HVAC/R test setups and fixturesExperience with variable-speed drives
