HYBRID, Payroll Specialist (Manhattan)
HYBRID Payroll Specialist in Manhattan Job Description The Payroll and T&E Operations Specialist will coordinate inputs needed for processing payroll in all locations within the US and Canada. The role involves liaising with internal People partners, payroll providers, and ensuring the accuracy of payroll data. Additionally, the specialist will work closely with various teams to provide an in-depth understanding of corporate card and expense reporting policies and processes. Responsibilities + Coordinate bi-weekly payrolls for US & Canada employees, including review of inputs and outputs for reasonableness and completeness. + Participate in discussions with the People team and vendors to ensure proper handling of issues and use of controls to mitigate risk. + Reconcile payrolls in accordance with established procedures and controls. + Address inquiries from various internal teams and external partners. + Assist the Compensation Accounting team with queries regarding payroll accounting. + Assist with other BAU activities, firm initiatives, and projects as needed. + Collaborate with vendors to complete tasks in accordance with agreed-upon roles and responsibilities. + Comply with and perform SOX and audit procedures in completing key responsibilities. + Manage all aspects of Corporate Card Administration including processing applications, managing credit limits, cancellations, payments, and responding to employee service tickets. + Enforce policy and compliance. + Troubleshoot ERP (Workday) system issues. + Handle delinquent and terminated employee expense reimbursement collections. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of work experience in Payroll and T&E. + Software: Workday + Solid functional knowledge of payroll processes and regulations. + Highly innovative problem solver with strong interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational, and project planning skills. + Analytical skills to recognize and resolve problems. + Ability to work independently, as part of an internal team, and in partnership with vendors. + Fast learner who adapts well to a fast-moving environment. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Strong knowledge of Excel. + 4-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of US Payrolls, withholding taxes, and benefits. + Background in People Operations. + Knowledge of Workday HCM, Payroll, and Travel & Expense management. Work Environment You will be part of a small knit team with the opportunity to gain exposure to global payroll operations, working closely with the head of global payroll. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
