- Hybrid ScheduleWhat You Will Be Doing"Able to independently manage litigation files, from inception through mediation, with some, but minimal assistance from the lead attorneyalthough we have an open-door policy, frequently meet and strategies together.
" Able to prepare and present oral presentations/arguments for mediation/hearings.
" Able to negotiate informal settlements with opposing counsel.
" Experience with legal research, legal writing, and preparing, responding to, and arguing motions.
" Experience meeting with and designating experts and expert discovery generally.What You Need for this Position"Litigation Attorney(s) with +/- 7 years of experience. We would consider someone with much fewer years of experience that has done nothing but insurance defense.
" Experience with 3rd party personal injury defense litigation
" Experience with 3rd party personal injury defense billing requirements-- and understands how to manage billing guidelines, and how to, and, how not to enter time entries.
" Experience with 1st party insurance defense, a plus.
" Some experience or exposure to construction law, a plus.
" Experience with commercial litigation (contract disputes and business torts) and/or commercial real estate matters, a double plus.
" Experience with sending and responding and objecting to discovery.
" Experience preparing formal written reports to the carriers/clients.
" Experience with taking and defending depositions.
" Experience with taking and defending expert depositions.
" 1900 to 1950 yearly billing requirement. The spread depends on several factors too long to elaborate here but includes 50 hours of Pro Bono and CLE Presentations.What's In It for You- Competitive Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 (DOE)
