Hybrid Payroll Specialist
Description Our manufacturing client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all activities related to payroll processing, on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will be proficient with automated payroll processing services and be able to process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. You will be a key player in ensuring that all payroll related functions, including record keeping and tax filing, are carried out effectively. Responsibilities: + Manage and process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in accordance with federal, state, and company policies. + Keep track of hours, deductions, paid time off, etc. This includes checking data for accuracy and ensuring that all information is correct and up to date. + Prepare payroll tax reports and ensure all tax requirements are met in line with the governing laws. + Respond to all queries by staff members regarding their pay and solve any issues that may arise. + Create and maintain records of each pay period as well as annual summaries of financial transactions. + Restrain company confidentiality while managing payroll information by following the policy and standard ethics. + Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper. + Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records. + Coordinate with the HR team to verify staff’s pay. + Take part in payroll training and seminars for professional growth and awareness of legislative changes. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: + A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field. + Proven experience as a payroll specialist or payroll manager. + Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations. + Knowledge of payroll software (e.g. Quickbooks, ADP, Paychex, etc) is a must. + High numerical skills with a keen eye for detail. + High level competency with MS Office, particularly Excel. + Solid analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities. + Excellent time management skills and ability to meet all determined deadlines. + Exceptional oral and written communication skills. + Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
