Hydraulics & Hydrology Project Engineer
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Professional Engineer possessing a comprehensive understanding of Civil Engineering as it pertains to Hydrology & Hydraulics analysis and design. Familiar with principles and industry standards. Provides direction and supervision to less experienced staff and manages their daily responsibilities to meet project deadlines. Responsibilities + Prepare Hydrologic & Hydraulic calculations, exhibits, and reports for civil infrastructure improvements for public and private projects. + Data collection and analysis, computer modeling, and design of complex detention/retention systems meeting applicable local, state, and federal regulations. + Evaluate and eliminate or mitigate detrimental impact of proposed design upstream and downstream of proposed projects. + Prepare and process CLOMR/LOMR applications through local municipalities and FEMA. + Monitor project costs and changes against budget. + Monitor, specify, review and analyze engineering plans, specifications and reports. + Review construction and design industry standards. + Function as point of contact for consultants, contractors, professional and trade organizations, and other government agencies. + Monitor agency permit review progress and respond to agency comments. + Lead, organize and review the work of subordinate employees. + Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications + 3-7 years of civil engineering experience is preferred. + Understanding of private development process and concepts for both residential and commercial projects. + Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D stormwater management software. + Proficiency in HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS. + 2-dimensional Hydraulic experience a plus. + Proficiency in Autodesk Infraworks required. + Proficiency in ArcGIS required. + Proficiency in Bentley Stormwater products (i.e., OpenFlows) is a plus. + Experience in Civil3D required. + Texas PE license required. + Texas Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred. + Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
