As we continue to grow our business and enhance our service offerings locally, we are eagerly seeking a highly motivated, technically competent, and entrepreneurially minded Hydrogeologist to join our Halifax or Sydney office.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Play a key role in a wide variety of physical hydrogeology (and related) projects including environmental site assessments, contaminant hydrogeology studies, hydrogeological logging of drilling programs, well testing, water supply assessments, groundwater modeling, and aquifer testing, characterization and protection measures. Design and conduct field investigations including groundwater investigations, water sampling, slug/bail and pumping tests, groundwater/surface water sampling, stream flow monitoring, and sediment sampling. Design and conduct field programs to map hydrogeological features, geological logging, GPS mapping, drilling supervision, and installation of groundwater instrumentation. Evaluate/interpret groundwater chemical results. Collaborate with senior specialists to develop remedial and/or risk management options. Assist in responding to Requests for Proposals and the preparation of cost estimates. Perform independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions. Write and review technical reports.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in earth science/hydrogeology, environmental engineering, geology, or another relevant discipline. Member in good standing with Geoscientists Nova Scotia or Engineers Nova Scotia. Knowledge of physical and contaminant hydrogeology, contaminated sites management, remediation and health and safety, and development of drinking water supplies. Two or more years of relevant experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Experience with groundwater and other relevant technical software (e.g., Aqtesolv, AquiferTest, ArcGIS). Ability to work in a team environment. Valid driver’s license and vehicle.EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
