HDR is looking for new or recent civil/structural engineering graduates to join the Northern California Hydropower Engineering team for exciting project opportunities and to help our clients further their clean energy goals.

In the role of Civil EIT, we'll count on you to:

Assist Senior Engineers with design and plan production activities for general civil including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving and site utilitiesConduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, engineering document review, drawing review and revision, provide field construction support and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications among other tasksPerform routine engineering assignments that support our hydropower generation clients that require application of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures across asset management, powerhouses and field engineering projectsThis role will spend time at generating facilities in support of Engineering, Operations and Maintenance and construction projects across the Sierra Nevada Mountain range between Fresno and ShastaComplete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variablesTakes initiative and is flexible with embracing change in order to accomplish project goalsWork independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projectsThrives in a team environment and has strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skillsOpenness to being mentored by Senior Engineers and Hydropower Subject Matter Experts to support individual growthPrior internship/co-op experience in power, utilities, hydropower, renewable energy, and/or construction industries a plusPerform other duties as needed

The first assignment for the 2 available positions will consist of three rotations (6 months each) where the successful candidates will gain exposure and experience working across a variety of hydropower projects traversing asset management, powerhouses/generating facilities and other exciting field engineering project opportunities promoting career growth.

NOTICE: Rotational project needs will be within a location inNorthern California, including Redding, Burney, Chico, Auburn, and Auberry.HDR may temporarily relocate individuals to any of these locations for one or more of the 6 month rotations.

If candidates do not have EIT certification at the time of hire, title of position will be Mechanical Coordinator.

The expected compensation range for this position is $70,499 - $95,381 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
