**SUMMARY**
The I&C Plant Engineer position is responsible for learning the plant site, procedures, programs and organization along with obtaining engineering qualifications as required in the allotted timeframe. The I&C Plant Engineer will support station activities related to providing technical support for the operation, maintenance and testing of plant systems. Additionally, the I&C Plant Engineer will develop design changes and engineering evaluations to either address emergent technical plant issues or improve plant equipment and serve as an advocate for improving overall plant performance and reliability while acting as the technical conscience for the station to maintain the design basis of the plant. Proficient technical writing skills are essential.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
_PLANT ENGINEERING TECHNICAL SUPPORT:_
Provides technical support for operations and maintenance personnel regarding plant systems.
+ Reviews performance of plant systems and recommends changes regarding operation, maintenance, or testing.
+ Leads the interface with other departments and regulatory agencies by leading meetings and discussions to provide specific information and analysis to questions/problems.
+ Prepares and reviews engineering documentation (i.e., calculations, specifications, analysis, drawings, evaluations, etc.)
+ Provides independent engineering support to Maintenance that requires field investigation, inspections, and solutions to problems.
+ Support investigations and reports for apparent or root cause analysis and generates recommendations for corrective actions.
+ Reviews and evaluates industry documentation and event reports for relevant application to STP and identifies appropriate correction actions.
+ Provides mentoring and training to co-workers.
+ Acts as Supervisor as required.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Accept ERO position as needed.
+ Accept outage position as needed.
**SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
+ Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
+ Ability to work independently and interface with all levels of personnel required.
+ Knowledge of design, operations, maintenance, and testing, preferably nuclear power.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
+ Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
+ Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
+ Normal office environment with frequent field inspections/walkdowns in a plant environment and in all kinds of weather conditions. May require working outside and at night.
+ Travel may be required.
+ May be required to carry pager/phone.

**Engineer In Training I (EIT I)**
EXPERIENCE
+ Entry Level, no prior engineering required.
+ Engineering Degree (Required)

**Engineer In Training II (EIT II)**
EXPERIENCE
+ 6 months engineering, maintenance or operations experience. (Required)
+ Engineering Degree (Required)

**I&C Engineer/Spec Plant Engineer**
EXPERIENCE
+ 1 year of engineering or maintenance or operations experience. (Required)
+ Engineering Degree (Preferred)
**Plan to promote good performers after 2 years in position**
**I&C Sr Engineer/Spec Plant Engineer**
**EXPERIENCE**
+ 3 years of engineering, maintenance, or operations experience in which two years is nuclear related. (Required)
+ Engineering Degree (Preferred)
