I&E Maintenance Specialist

Job Description:

PNO I&E Maintenance Specialist serves a critical role in sustaining and implementing improved maintenance knowledge in Reliability, Operations, and technical organizations. Provides a key link between the maintenance, reliability and operations groups to ensure alignment of team objectives. 

What will be expected from you?

Encourage and target a zero safety and environmental incident rate for unit. Instill by example a high degree of safety and environmental work ethic.Key interface between unit maintenance and Engineering functions.I&E Maintenance representative for PHA when required – limited basis.I&E Maintenance representative for capital and expense projects – ensure proposed designs are safe, efficient, and workable within the context of the overall operation of the plant.MOC review Team – reviewer and team participant as required / approves PSSR before unit restart.Continuity of technical knowledge.Review and approve control changes working closely between Maintenance and Operations.Advocate for technical improvements working actively between Operations, Maintenance, and technical disciplines.

Training:

Training, technical skills development for Instrument and Electrical Technicians positions.Utilize technical information such as technical reports and incident investigations to develop communications and technical training.Incorporate technical information within procedures / member of the team to improve technical knowledge and execution of operating capabilities.Ensure that technical information contained in procedures is accurate and available in required amount of detail.Review all new or modified procedures to ensure accuracy and applicability.Continuous improvement in maintenance procedures and updates as new or modified understanding of maintenance information becomes available.Help Develop annual training I/E technician schedule.Validate progress of training – develop periodic updates / working sessions for PNO Management to ensure gaps are addressed.Audit and test as training progresses to ensure only qualified and capable individuals are certified.

Additional Periodic Roles:

Turnaround development and execution – could include any of following:

Scope development.Clearing and blinding strategy development – as pertains to I/E work.Work plan review and validation – walk downs, limited basis.Multiple potential execution roles.I&E Team Leader backfill – Limited basis.Site-wide initiatives – maintenance, reliability, etc.Safety or environmental audit team participation.Participate in incident investigations.Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.  If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals.  Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.  Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

Associate Degree in Instrumentation – industrial electricity, or nationally recognized training program (e.g. electrical JAT, etc.) AND a minimum of 5 years relevant I&E Maintenance experience in a petrochemical or refining facility; ORa minimum of 10 years relevant I&E Maintenance experience in a petrochemical or refining facility.Associate Degree or certification is preferred.Must have or be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.State of Texas Electrical Journeyman licenses a plus.Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.Proven ability to understand complex unit processes.
