I/E Technician

Job Overview & Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant operation of assigned area. Inspects and calibrates instruments and electrical motors required to keep the Chemical Plant running properly. Installs and repairs instruments and electrical motors. Inspects electrical systems.

What You Will Do:

• Maintain consistency and document compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), quality and best practice requirements.

• Carry out routine maintenance tasks in line with agreed schedule, recording all results in the appropriate system and reporting back on any anomalies.

• Take on responsibility for carrying out maintenance activities, modifications and calibrations to existing facilities and will be expected to work under maintenance schedules based on plant demands and equipment specifications.

Use gauges and other test instruments to diagnose malfunctions and mechanic hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble system components

• Maintain I&E maintenance records through the site CMMS, which is currently eMaint.

Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of instrument application, operation and of the electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing and calibration

Maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution and monitoring devices, VFD drives and motor control

Performs preventive and predictive maintenance including calibration, using data collectors, testing and diagnostic tools, and computerized maintenance management systems

Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of failure

Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns

Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the plant mechanical integrity program

Set up, plan and execute calibration procedures and routines, interpret, and report the results of these within agreed timescales and quality standards, and in accordance with project requirements.

Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure it operates safely, is performing within expected specifications and is available to meet customers needs

Position Details:

Plant location: Garyville, LAWork week and shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5 PM, required to be on call at least 1 week after probation.Compensation package offered: $38/HR

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Required2 years of electrical maintenance experienceImmigration sponsorship not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree or higher educationTechnical certification in electrical troubleshooting/maintenanceExperience with DCS, variable speed drives, and PLCSAP experienceExperience with Distributive Control Systems, operating concepts and maintenance.
