Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for an I/E Technician to support our Beaumont facility. At Arkema, I/E technicians install, maintain, and repair the measuring and control instruments at the Beaumont plant. This position provides instrument and electrical technical support to construction, plant facilities, and field operations. In addition, maintaining 100% compliance with all applicable environmental and safety laws, regulations, and permit requirements is imperative to our daily operations. Daily responsibilities in this position must be done in an ethical manner with safety as the primary responsibility. This position reports directly to the I/E Maintenance Supervisor. This position has no direct subordinates.
The Beaumont Plant is located in Southeast Texas about 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is about one hour drive east of Houston. Our facility is responsible for the production of methyl mercaptan, ethyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and methylmercaptoproprionaldehyde (MMP).
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
Install, diagnose, and maintain systems, plant, pipeline, and compressor instrument and electrical equipment components with all job duties and responsibilities executed in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnership’s procedures and regulatory requirements. Works as a team directly with the I/E Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Department. Works in partnership with customers such as Production Operators, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Inspection, Purchasing, Quality, and Shipping. Properly documenting hours and work history to work orders in SAP. Troubleshooting and/or repairing all plant equipment according to procedures and best practices. Perform PM work on plant equipment to insure plant reliability. Maintain PLCs, DCS systems, and safety controls. Read and interpret manuals, policies, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics including electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID’s. Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout/ procedures (LOTO).
To be considered for this role, the following is required:
Min. High School education. College degree or applicable military training preferred. Certified craftsman with working knowledge of I/E equipment, gained through education and/or practical field experience. 3+ years practical experience working with I/E equipment. Thoroughly familiar with industry policies and procedures to include Safety and Environmental. Working knowledge of best practices for installations and specifications. Experience in accepted industry procedures. Knowledge of Hazcom Program (SDS manual). Familiar with work order procedures. Must be available to respond to call outs and be scheduled on an on-call rotation. Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas, standing and sitting for extended periods. Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions. Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting. Willing to work scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime as determined by business needs.
