Job Title: I/O Cable Plant Engineer Tech II

Location: Doha, Qatar

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for an I/O Cable Plant Engineer Tech II to support the AFCENT Communications E&I Support Services II contract. 

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Delivering installing, pulling, and testing fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cablingDelivering installing and working in manholes and conduit ducting systemTerminating, splicing, testing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic (including fusion splicing), copper, and coaxial cablingInstalling interior fiber, copper, and coaxial cablingDelivering, installing fiber optic modems, multiplex equipment, patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames, lightning protection, and supporting ground and power connectionsInstalling cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in cabinetProviding access to buried communication cable and digging/chiseling trenchesInstalling separate red and black interior signal cable distribution systems, exterior and interior coaxial cable systems, and supporting equipment to interface tactical and commercial cabling systems Minimum Qualifications: An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be fluent in reading, writing and speaking EnglishDue to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 

Inside Cable Plant:– Must have a minimum of five (3) years’ experience of inside plant operation and maintenance experience, installation, testing, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems within the last 10 years.Outside Cable Plant:– Must have a minimum of five (3) years’ experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of multiple conductors, aerial, underground, and buried multi- purpose communications cable to include coaxial and fiber optic cable.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 

Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with the following:Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, splicing, and repairing copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cablingnInstallation of outside and interior copper and fiber cabling, fiber optic modems, fiber multiplex equipment, fiber patch panels, analog and digital copper patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames, lightning protection, and supporting ground and power connections.Installation of cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in the cabinets,   Operating trenching, cable reel trucks and excavating equipmentThree (3) years practical experience in the maintenance of telephony systems/equipment.One (1) year practical experience in electronics installation. Education: High School diploma or GED, Completion of at least three (3)U.S. Military schools in electronic communications equipment or systems and Grade E-5 or equivalent or Commercial trad school or job training equivalent Trace Systems
