Job Description:
16+ years of experience as a hands-on project leader for Mainframe hardwareand  Operating System software, with a focus on  IBM's z/OS.OCTO Mainframe Support Services monitors and trouble-shoots all of ourmainframe hardware devices, network infrastructure and our district agencieshost applications. Mainframe Support is responsible for monitoring 2mainframe platforms. Mainframe Support must ensure seamless, non-disruptivesystem maintenance activities to minimize impact on our customer'sproduction environments and to ensure adherence to each agencies servicelevel commitments. OCTO is looking for a hands on Project Leader for thesupport of Mainframe hardware and Operating systems with a focus on the IBMz/OS.Responsibilities:
Evaluates, plans, installs and maintains the z/OS and z/VM Operatingsystems and related software products.Develops operational standards; may coordinate the conversion of existingsystems to enable exploitation or   coexistence with new computer hardwareand/or software.Plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities.Maintains and analyzes system performance, identifies trends andpotential problems, and recommends solutions and alterations based onanalyses. Identifies requirements for additional resources, or changes incurrent system components.Provides training for system products and procedures.Troubleshoots problems.Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent
experience
