ICC Structural Inspector

Clover Leaf is seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and individually. This position is located in Albuquerque, NM, supporting our DOE client.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overseeing structural construction work in progress and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and work acceptance standards. Performing detailed field observations focused on structural elements, including foundations, steel, concrete, and load-bearing components. Preparing observation reports that document the progress, quality, and safety of the structural work and other construction activities. Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) observations in structural inspection. Conducting mandatory inspections for compliance with structural codes and ensuring adherence to contract requirements. Verifying that RFIs, submittals, and redline drawings related to structural work are properly implemented by construction contractors. Monitoring structural work for OSHA safety violations during inspections, documenting violations in reports, and communicating them to management. Performing final inspections and punch lists of structural projects. Participating in the review and development of Facility Standards and Specifications, ensuring alignment with structural codes and regulations. Coordinating various field tests, including structural integrity testing. Reviewing construction schedules, observing structural progress, and reporting deviations that may affect project completion. Deliverables you will be responsible for include: Design review forms for structural components. Logs of structural issues and deficiencies. Daily/weekly inspection reports with photos documenting structural progress, quality, and safety. Structural code compliance checklists. Qualifications: International Code Council (ICC) certification in Commercial Building Inspection (specific to structural disciplines is preferred). Five years of experience in structural inspections. OSHA 10-hour training or higher. Knowledge of OSHA 20 CFR 1926 Construction Standards as they relate to structural safety. Proficient in reading and understanding structural plans and specifications. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach to managing and overseeing structural work. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts in a non-confrontational manner. Effective communication skills with managers and a hands-on approach to inspections. Experience managing time and prioritizing activities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness and ability to work on-call and/or a flexible schedule, with potential overtime. Experience working with the Department of Energy or similar environments is a plus. Eligibility for a DOE clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
