Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.
**Please Note: This is an Independent Contractor position with Amentum, it should not be considered an employment relationship with Amentum.**
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Forensic Toxicology Advisor in in various countries on an ad-hoc basis. This position will be responsible for supporting the development of foreign forensic laboratories in forensic toxicology. The candidate will support the implementation of best practices and aid in the alignment of laboratory work with international accreditation standards.
**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Provides technical guidance on the toxicological analyses in biological specimens to determine the cause and manner of death or physiological impairment.
+ Assists in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with best practices for toxicology sections.
+ Supports the development of validation studies for qualitative and quantitative analysis and the review of associated data.
+ Reviews and advises on quality management documents as well as internal audits.
+ Provides training on required maintenance on analytical instrumentation and routine laboratory equipment.
+ Advises on data collection for overall trends in encounters with common drugs of abuse and novel compounds
**CORE COMPENTENCIES:**
+ Knowledge of the principles of analytical chemistry; and knowledge of laboratory practice.
+ Knowledge of the principles of equipment and instrument calibration and maintenance.
+ Knowledge of the principles of analytical chemistry.
+ Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in toxicology from an accredited college or university; or an appropriate discipline of the biological, medical, or veterinary sciences.
+ Work Experience: Specialized work experience directly related to the position.

**Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Moderate Public Trust Waiver US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Moderate Public Trust Waiver** **Clearance.**
