The Private Capital Group represents all the investment capabilities globally across all BX strategies. We work with single and multi family offices, select sophisticated RIAs, and endowments & foundations. A broad knowledge of products and markets is required as the macro context is important as is the ability to pivot towards client needs and ability to make a credible high level pitch on most products on the BX platform.

Blackstone is seeking an experienced business development professional to proactively develop new clients and expand relationships with sophisticated family offices, RIAs and endowments and foundations in the East Coast territory. This individual will build a 360-degree dialogue with clients and deliver customized access to Blackstone’s integrated multi-asset platform. The goal is to establish and deepen relationships with East Coast clients, grow assets under management, and effectively communicate the suite of offerings to prospective clients with a credible, advanced depth of investment and portfolio knowledge.

Identify and cultivate high quality relationships with family offices across the east coast; this includes developing goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to create meaningful relationships with family offices, RIAs and endowments and foundations, resulting in a consistent awareness of Blackstone’s strategies and growth in assets under managementUnderstand and effectively communicate complex alternative investment capabilities to existing and prospective clients in a straightforward fashion, in both verbal and written form.Explain how Blackstone’s solutions compare to competitors and how these varied products/solutions can help clients fill gaps in their portfolios and reach their investment objectivesMaintain a high level of prospecting activity, including continuous in-person touchpoints with clients to build rapport, trust, and connectivityCollaborate with the firm’s product and investment teams to facilitate new business onboarding and client cross-selling activitiesRegularly obtain feedback from families on their perspective of Blackstone’s offerings, to inform product positioning, future product strategy and business approachPartner closely with Blackstone’s marketing team to develop collateral material and communications focused on education and product positioningSupport and encourage a team-oriented model with effective communication, transparency and trustParticipate strategically in industry conferences as appropriate
 

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
 

The successful candidate must have:

10+ years of directly related sales experience for alternative investment strategiesDemonstrated track record of success in identifying and building long-term professional and raising assets; experience with family offices, RIAs and endowments and foundationsPossess excellent knowledge of alternative investment strategies (including private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and credit), capital markets, portfolio management and asset allocationComfort engaging with clients, including family office Chief Investment Officers, in solutions-oriented discussions; effectively position the firm’s varied products and solutions to help clients reach their investment objectivesDesire to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, and collaborate across business unitsDeep understanding of trends and buying behavior for institutional quality investors, as it relates to their use of alternative investments within existing asset allocationStrong communication and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to effectively position Blackstone and its capabilities to investorsStrong organizational skills; ability to prioritize targets and handle a busy calendar of clients meetingsClient-oriented; leveraging effective relationship management and interpersonal skills, with a considerable understanding of how to achieve targeted levels of client confidenceSelf-starter, entrepreneurial and goal oriented, with a high level of accountability and driveSome travel requiredBachelor’s Degree; advanced Degree and/or CFA preferred

Expected annual base salary range:

$200,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
