About the role: We are looking for a highly skilled Identity Management (IAM) Specialist to join our cybersecurity team. This role involves managing user identities, access control, and authentication systems within a complex, enterprise-level environment. The IAM Specialist will be responsible for implementing role-based access controls, supporting multi-factor authentication (MFA), and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to security, and excellent communication skills for working cross-functionally with IT and security teams. They will also play a key role in conducting regular access reviews, ensuring proper user provisioning, and managing identity governance. Success in this role means enhancing our organization’s security posture through effective identity management practices and robust access controls. Requirements You will:User Identity Management: Provision, modify, and de-provision user accounts and access rights across various systems and applications including in the Azure environment. Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate and timely updates to user access to prevent malicious actors from gaining access. Access Control: Design, implement, and manage role-based access control (RBAC) and other access control models. Develop and enforce access control policies and procedures in alignment with organizational requirements. Authentication and Authorization: Implement and maintain robust multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) solutions to enhance security and user convenience. Manage authentication protocols (e.g., LDAP, SAML, OAuth) to ensure secure access. Identity Governance and Compliance: Conduct regular access reviews and audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC, PCI). Generate detailed reports on access and identity management activities for compliance and security assessments. System Integration and Support: Collaborate with IT teams to integrate IAM systems with enterprise applications and services. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to identity management and access control. Security and Risk Management: Monitor and respond to security incidents involving identity and access management. Assess and mitigate risks associated with identity management systems and processes. User Support and Training: Provide technical support for users experiencing identity or access issues. Develop and deliver training materials and sessions on identity management best practices. Additional Responsibilities This position may require occasional on-call availability, estimated to be less than 20% of the time, to address urgent issues or support business needs outside of regular working hours. Candidates must be willing and able to respond promptly as needed, and on-call scheduling may be arranged in advance to ensure coverage. This position will require you to work EST hours (9am – 6pm EST). You have: Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of professional working experience in the IT Operations, Cyber Security field or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in identity and access management, IT security, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Microsoft Azure environment. Proven experience with IAM tools and platforms such as Microsoft Active Directory, DUO, SailPoint, or similar. Certifications: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are preferred. Skills: In-depth knowledge of IAM concepts, authentication protocols, and access control models. Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for managing identities and automating tasks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
