IDM Asset Delivery Process Engineer

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $167,200

Organization Overview:
Indy Device Manufacturing (IDM) is an external-facing team responsible for manufacturing medical devices and delivering custom assembly equipment used in the manufacturing process. IDM Asset Delivery Process Engineers provide technical support for developing, designing, constructing, and delivering automated device assembly and packaging lines for IDM globally to both Lilly sites and Contract Manufacturers in support of new product launches, capacity expansions, and line extensions.  In addition, when primary support teams for the global installed base (CMO and Lilly sites) require assistance, these engineers provide technical support in returning lines to service or optimizing lines. 

Responsibilities:

Participate in the technical assessment of OEM technical proposalsGeneration of rationalization of user requirements for each projectDefine and mitigate technical and patient risks, including use of FMEAAssure each design includes maximum appropriate re-use of technology from prior projectsReview the OEM's design process, assuring questions are resolved and barriers to progress are removedParticipate in thorough design reviews to assure the design meets requirements and local/corporate standardsLead characterization of unit operations and setting operating conditions by defining an Engineering Studies Plan, developing rigorous studies and executing themAppropriately document all testing results and investigationsIdentify opportunities to optimize line performance



Basic Requirements:

BS in an Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Eng preferred)Minimum 2 years engineering experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or related industry working with high speed, discrete mechanical/process assembly & packaging equipmentExperience in capital project delivery

Additional Information:

Ability to travel 25% on average, with peaks over 50% for a few months at a time
