This opportunity for a sales professional to join our Instrument Enterprise Services division (IES) of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The Position unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative nature, and rich resources to deliver services for chromatography and molecular scientific equipment that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals – quickly, reliably, and safely. Our service solutions make it easier for customers to focus on what matters most – delivering answers and innovations that save and improve lives. This is a home-based position.
Travel: up to 20% overnight

The Account Manager (m/f/d) Inside Sales is responsible for selling service contracts for a particular product line. In this critical sales position, you will focus on exceeding the sales quotas for our service portfolio by selling and negotiating contracts with end-user customers, key decision-makers and procurement. You will collaborate with cross-divisional & channel distribution partners, product & application specialists, customer experience and business development teams to help drive sales.

A day in the Life:

Achieve and exceed quarterly & yearly sales goals within the assigned territoryIdentify, develop and close large sales opportunitiesIdentify customer solutions that span across multiple business sectors and cross-functional partners, and collaborate effectively to implement the sale planSupport cross-functional customer planning sessions and business reviews of service solutions for various customersDevelop, implement and maintain account-specific strategies/proposals to drive incremental growth opportunitiesUse technology to accurately forecast sales pipelineAct as a country/regional  (Germany) Account Manager for Strategic customers to maintain and grow businessSells new products by applying value propositions by establishing key customer relationships and understanding customer service/support needsApplies central messaging and sales approach for the broader target audience with outstanding knowledge of our service productsTrain, Empower and support divisional Sales partners to sell services at POS to achieve sales goalsAct as a resource to others in determining the best course of action in compliance with quality processes and business rules and regulationsMonitor driven activity and industry trends, creating competitive solutionsSubmits accurate forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, marketing intelligence, and maintains data integrity within SalesForce.com CRMMaintain intensity and continually strive to increase contract penetration coverage of instrument install base


Keys to Success:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science or equivalent education or experiencefive years of selling experience is strongly preferred.Experience successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets in a business environmentDemonstrable experience creating and driving sales and/or field marketing plansNative German speaker Second language english requestedSuccess in territory management plans with a focus on developing long-term relationshipsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.)Solid understanding of assigned product portfolio and corresponding technical understanding of instruments (CMD, RSD, or LPD)Familiarity with the following industries: biotech, clinical, pharmaceutical, academic/medical research, environmental, food, forensics, and petrochemicalProficiency with sales software like Salesforce.com
