We are seeking an emerging Image Processing Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. Tasks include:
• Design, integrate, and test signal/image processing, GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products
• Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
• Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
• Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
• Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree(s) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar
• Course work or related experience in one or more of the following areas: data analysis, modeling and simulation, software development
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Matlab, Python
Desired Skills:
• Experience with linear algebra software packages
• Strong programming skills that can translate to C++ development in a Linux environment
• Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
• Experience deploying complex algorithms in embedded systems
• Experience developing algorithms using artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML) techniques
• Knowledge of electro-optical/infrared detection (EOIR) technology, optics, and principles of radiometry
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing algorithms related to navigation and inertial tracking
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing
• Professional experience and demonstrated proficiency in math as it relates to Kalman filtering, optimal state estimation, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and multivariate calculus
• Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques
• Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
