Shift : Per Diem

Location: West FL Outpatient Imaging

The role you’ll contribute:

Professionally interviews patients following established standards and procedures (i.e. Red Flag guidelines); obtains complete and updated patient information at time of service. Accounts are correctly completed

Completes scheduling / pre-registration / registration / admission process and follow up within established timeframes – meets or exceeds wait time goals

Assists with non-clinical operations of the Imaging Center, under the direction of the Center Manager

Ability to work independently and alone with minimal supervision

Schedules patients as necessary; operates the scheduling system correctly and follows established guidelines for scheduling patients. Maintains established productivity standards and supply expense metrics. Accountable for monthly departmental variances, budget, FTE, and expense variance reports/associated actions.

Answers calls using scripted opening greeting, identifying department and self.Always asks the patient’s name and demographic information before processing the call.

Communicates with patients regarding appointment needs and refers calls to various departments as appropriate

Inputs basic patient demographics into the computer, making changes as needed

Confirms appointments

Meets departmental productivity and customer service standards

Works well within the organizational framework to achieve hospital/departmental goals and objectives.

Schedules OP Ancillary diagnostic testing; radiology/cardiology per physician order.

Answers the dedicated phone line for Centralized Scheduling.

Processes all referring physician faxes

Returns all voice mail callssame day

Urgent calls and faxes handled immediately with the direction of Physicians, clinical staff, or office manager.

Ensures all patients are scheduled at the next available appointment or at the patient’s convenience.

Accurately assembles all patient information gathered from the patient or referring physician to ensure the Pre-registration function occurs in a timely efficient manner.

Reviews all orders for medical necessity and radiology protocol to ensure accuracy in the appointment.

Ensures all patient instructions and preparations are reviewed and noted in the appointment for the physician, radiology department and/or patient.

Ensures a positive relationship with physicians and physician’s office staff to increase physician satisfaction and referrals.

Maintains a high level of OP Ancillary department knowledge: Radiology

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Accuracy and data entry within established time constraint

Phone skills and etiquette

Ability to remain calm under pressure

Knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge of insurance plans

Knowledge of medical necessity requirements.

High school diploma or equivalent
