Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and implementing a continuous quality improvement program for imaging services. Quality indicators support ACR, DNV, and TJC accreditations, CMS (PQRS) quality measures, and other key quality indicators. Recommends changes to improve quality and reduce cost of imaging services based upon the results of quality measurement and improvement activitiesInvestigates and collaborates with others to mitigate clinical quality, HIPAA privacy, regulatory compliance, and patient safety issues. Monitors compliance with imaging quality indicators, supervises data collection, statistical analysis, and evaluation, produces actionable information and reports for imaging operational leadership, and presents findings and conclusions to appropriate hospital and medical group committees.Leads small teams in standard policy, guideline, protocol, workflow development and implementation, all modalities, for the system department. Coordinates operational implementation of standard practice. Supports department leaders in the implementation of best practices. Researches best practices. Collaborates with the clinical and radiologist subject matter experts in standardizing to best practices. Collaborates with interdisciplinary partners. Documents standard practice.Produces quality solutions that standardize imaging services across the system. Partner with Epic, PACS, and Informatics teams to ensure that the electronic workflow, to supports the delivery of high quality, cost effective radiology services.Facilitates the development and maintenance of standard education including but not limited to: Annual essential education, onboarding, cross-training standardization/criteria, and competencies. Provides quality and compliance related orientation and educational materials/ presentations for staff, physicians, and leadership.Acts as conduit between Advocate Aurora stakeholders and Imaging Services including but not limited to: Radiologists, Pharmacy, Nursing, IP, Supply chain, HIT, HTM, Compliance, Privacy, Education, Revenue Cycle (pre- and post-service).Coordinates tracking of required CMEs and quality indicators for radiologists. Supports the medical group Imaging Peer Review Committee in monitoring and continually improving the quality of diagnostic interpretations. Uses radiology reports, patient records, lab reports, and other sources of medical information to correlate and compare radiographic interpretations.Promotes effective professional relationships with physicians, directors, and caregivers to ensure open communication that is conducive to problem solving. Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state requirements relating to accreditations standards.
