**Job Description:**
The Imaging Improvement Consultant assists the Imaging service line to improve quality and safety and reduce operational risk exposure by implementing performance improvement processes and meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements for assigned location(s). This position facilitates, plans, consults, educates, reduces barriers, and supports managers and technical staff as they incorporate principles of imaging quality and continuous quality improvement into multiple quality/risk related functions.

**Unit/Location:** Partially remote. Travel to medical group care sites in Peaks Region (Colorado and Montana)

**As an Imaging Improvement Consultant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our Imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:**
+ Monitors Diagnostic Imaging quality based on industry and system standards established for all designated technologists.
+ Evaluates and makes recommendations for system improvements using quality data, event, and regulatory compliance reports.
+ Applies a current working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards as appropriate to assignment.
+ Coordinates onsite audits to verify and maintain that assigned Imaging departments meet applicable state, federal, accrediting body, and Intermountain requirements.
+ Runs various weekly and monthly reports as assigned and analyzes data to verify that caregivers meet Intermountain policy and clinical compliance.
+ Trains and acts as a resource for caregivers to help verify that correct imaging procedures are followed and that billing is correct for performed exams.
+ Mentors and evaluates caregivers and students for professional and clinical development needs and opportunities.
+ Acts as a resource and sets clear expectations related to image quality, compliance, and approved workflows. Works with imaging caregivers to aid in achieving optimal image quality.
+ Coaches caregivers that fall below department standards.
+ Assists in ensuring newly employed Imaging caregivers are oriented to imaging workflows, quality standards, Intermountain SOPs, and Intermountain imaging policies.
+ Assists managers in hiring, retaining, mentoring, and motivating qualified and competent Imaging caregivers.
+ Works to maintain caregiver competency and clinical expertise. Serves as a resource to managers for imaging operations and standards for people, processes, and equipment.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Current ARRT Radiology Technologist (RT) License
+ Current State Radiology Technologist license in state of practice (if required by the state)
+ Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
+ Demonstrated years of experience in Radiology
+ Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail and scheduling applications.
**Preferred** **Qualifications**
+ 5 or more years of Radiology experience
+ Bachelor's Degree obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
+ Leadership experience

+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
+ Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
+ Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
+ Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
+ May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$41.22 - $63.59
