Applicants' education/experience will be considered and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate.*_** **IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST I** **_Minimum Qualifications:_** **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** + High School Diploma or GED + Six months Experience in the Primary ImagingModality **LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS** + Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations: + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - (ARRT)(R), + American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), + American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RVT-VT), + Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or + American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) + Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable. + Registry in a second modality must be completed within 18 months of hire or transfer date. + American Heart Association BLS. **_Preferred Qualifications:_** + Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred + Three - six months experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality + Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) **_JOB DESCRIPTION:_** The Multi-modality Technologist I provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination of which MRI, CT, Mammography, or X-ray are the primary modality. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. The procedures are performed under general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The Multi-modality Technologist I must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. In addition, the Multi-modality Technologist I will be able to provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. The Multi-modality Technologist I will meet all of the qualifications and requirements for the modalities in which they are certified and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality.
