Immigration Paralegal / Legal Secretary

If so, we want to hear from you! Our dynamic and highly respected San Jose law firm client is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal or Legal Secretary to join their team. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential to provide outstanding service to the firm's diverse clientele. This role requires daily onsite attendance at the client's San Jose, CA office. Hourly rate is dependent on level of experience. About the Role As a key member of the firm's team, you will work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to provide critical support on immigration matters. Your fluency in Spanish will be vital in assisting our clients and translating complex legal processes into language they can understand and navigate effectively. Responsibilities + Support attorneys in all aspects of immigration legal work, including family-based petitions, visas, naturalization, and more. + Draft, edit, and review legal documents and correspondence with a high level of accuracy. + Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to gather information, provide updates, and explain procedures. + Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliantly filed with the appropriate agencies. + Coordinate schedules for client consultations, attorney meetings, and court deadlines. + Conduct research related to immigration cases, including changes to laws and policies. + Perform general administrative duties, such as maintaining office records and ordering supplies as needed. Requirements Qualifications + 3+ years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal or Legal Secretary, preferably within a law firm setting. (Candidates with fewer years of immigration law experience may apply if they possess commensurate legal experience in a different practice area.) + Fluent in written and spoken Spanish (required). + Thorough knowledge of immigration processes and legal terminology. + Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. + Strong multitasking and time-management abilities to handle multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
