Impact and Sustainability Manager
Job Description Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead the integration of sustainability and positive social impact practices into the daily operations of our property. As the Impact and Sustainability Director, you will play a key role in shaping the property’s transition to a purpose-driven hotel, where the environment and local communities are prioritized. This is a unique opportunity to work creatively and strategically, while having a tangible influence on the hotel's operations and brand.You will help develop and execute sustainability strategies that align with the hotel’s values and objectives, ensuring that both environmental and social impact are embedded into the business. This role requires strong collaboration across teams, clear communication with all stakeholders, and a passion for creating a lasting positive impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy Development & Planning:
- Design and implement tailored sustainability strategies for the property, aligning them with global goals and local regulations.- Ensure that sustainability practices are seamlessly integrated into the property’s operations, from guest services to back-end processes.- Partner with various departments (Rooms, Food & Beverage, Talent & Culture, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, etc.) to:- Minimize the environmental footprint by optimizing hotel processes.- Foster community empowerment through initiatives that support both internal and external stakeholders.- Align the property’s sustainability goals with global and regional ambitions.
Execution:
- Work cross-functionally with department heads to translate sustainability goals into actionable plans with clear milestones and timelines.- Guide teams through the execution phase by raising awareness and educating stakeholders to ensure ownership and drive of initiatives.- Analyze performance metrics related to social and environmental impact and provide actionable insights to improve results.
Communication:
- Support the property in telling its sustainability and impact stories through effective communication channels, including social media, press, and guest-facing platforms.- Integrate impact-driven storytelling into the guest experience, ensuring guests understand and appreciate the hotel’s sustainability efforts.- Lead internal communications, including onboarding new associates and sharing sustainability updates with the team.
Measurement & Reporting:
- Track progress toward achieving sustainability goals and ensure data is accurate and aligned with local and international reporting standards.- Provide regular updates to leadership and other key stakeholders on the property’s impact progress.- Ensure the property remains in compliance with sustainability certifications and any local regulatory requirements.
Partnerships & Innovation:
- Develop partnerships with local businesses, suppliers, and organizations that share the hotel’s sustainability vision.- Stay ahead of trends and innovations in sustainability, bringing fresh ideas to the property to enhance its environmental and social impact initiatives.
