Implant Material Handler - Purchasing and Stores

Position provides on-site Surgery Material Management for First Hill and Cherry Hill Product Distribution Centers (PDC) and Issaquah Sterile Processing.  This includes ordering, monitoring, tracking, cycle counting inventory of supplies, implants, manufactured and human tissue, valued in excess of $16.5 million dollars.  Pulls and assembles patient charge supplies as requested for scheduled surgical cases. Prints and reviews two-week surgery schedule for any conflicts with vendor provided product.  Accounts for patient charge inventory used during a surgical procedure and validates the usage in EPIC with the circulating nurse's account. Sends all validated charges to Finance for patient billing.  Provides vendors with purchase order number for non stock items used during surgery; accounts for all lot and serial number for human, bovine and porcine tissue in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines and complies with all other regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications:

Coursework/Training: Medical terminology with training in supply chain, inventory management and distribution systems. Experience in supply chain, inventory management and distribution systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Associate's Degree or equivalent education/experience Coursework/Training: Completion of a formal training program in materials management, sterile processing, surgical technology, or military hospital corpsman. 4 years of experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgical clinic working with surgical supplies, products and equipment, with the ability to interpret surgical schedule and to purchase medical supplies utilizing a perpetual inventory and/or supply chain ordering system.
