Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Import/Export Clerk in our office. This role is part of our import/export team and will be instrumental in managing our freight forwarding operations. Responsibilities: • Accurately and promptly open files for each shipment in the dedicated software system • Ensure the timely movement of shipments and report any serious difficulties to the air/ocean export manager • Handle the processing of freight shipping, preparation of documentation and waybilling, calculation of charges, and collection of fees for shipments • Successfully negotiate with domestic customers, acting as an intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve issues and reach mutual agreements • Check invoices and shipping manifests for compliance with tariff and customs regulations • Provide accurate transaction reports to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers • Prepare quotations under the direction of the immediate supervisor • Utilize skills in 'Export - Import Documents', 'Import Customer Service', 'Import Export', 'Computer Data Entry', 'Microsoft Office Suites', 'Microsoft Word' to manage and organize the high volume of activity.
