In-House Attorney - Real Estate/Leasing
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an IN-HOUSE Attorney/Lawyer in the real estate development industry in Maryland. This role involves a wide range of legal responsibilities including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating leases, maintaining company compliance, and advising departments on legal issues. This role offers one day per week of work from home. Responsibilities: • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate leases and related transactional documents • Communicate with lenders and opposing legal counsel • Analyze leases and prepare lease abstracts • Draft, organize, and circulate pertinent legal documents for the department • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned • Monitor, maintain, and ensure company’s compliance and performance under contracts and governing laws • Maintain confidentiality of the company and its clients • Communicate with opposing legal counsel, brokers, tenants, financial institutions, and risk managers relative to leasing and related issues • Collaborate with all departments during lease negotiations relative to the nuances of each deal • Advise and communicate with all departments about deadlines, legal issues, and processes • Support and work with the legal and general leasing team Requirements 2+ years of experience in the transactional space • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school is mandatory. • Active attorney license in Maryland • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • High ethical standards and professional integrity. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team In addition to exceptional benefits, our client offers a unique culture that is very collegial, and employee focused and are known for their employee tenure and engagement.
