Our client is seeking an In-House Counsel to join their dynamic and growing legal team! You will work hand-in-hand with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and other legal team members to provide expertise on legal matters related to contracts, compliance, risk management, disputes, and policy creation. This role represents a unique chance to be a part of a growing legal team in a nationwide company.
Location: Greater Boston area
Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 (DOE)
Schedule: Hybrid - 1 or 2 days in the office a week. After onboarding, it can be around twice a month in office.
Responsibilities:
The In-House Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel on a wide range of corporate legal matters, including:
+ Negotiating, drafting, and interpreting client contracts and subcontracts, ensuring that terms are protective of the company’s interests.
+ Advising corporate departments to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
+ Maintaining and updating standard company contracts to reflect current industry trends.
+ Engaging with staff to provide assistance in timely subcontract creation and review, as well as training and implementation of processes and tools.
+ Identifying new or changing legislation and proposing adjustments to internal processes as required.
+ Supporting risk mitigation efforts and implementing risk management policies.
+ Assisting with legal disputes, subpoena responses, and working with external legal counsel on claims as necessary.
+ Leading internal health & safety legal initiatives and training programs on contracts and subcontract negotiations.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
+ Admitted to practice law in ANY state.
+ 1-5 years of experience as a corporate attorney (preferably in-house).
+ Strong experience in contract and subcontract review, drafting, and negotiation.
+ Familiarity with engineering, environmental services, or related industries is preferred.
+ Experience responding to subpoenas is a plus.
