Description
We are seeking an attorney with experience in litigation to support our corporate client with litigation claims management. The successful candidate will have experience with case valuations, assessing liability, reviewing evidence, and negotiating settlements. They will have experience with the local courts and be barred in CA. This role is hybrid in Orange County, and offers a stable contract opportunity for a candidate looking to make the move in-house. Responsibilities:
• Review and evaluate litigation claims and evidence to assess liability
• Provide recommendations on the course of action based on case evaluations
• Negotiate settlements effectively, ensuring the best possible outcome for the company
• Manage relationships with external counsel for cases proceeding into litigation
• Utilize case management software to track and manage ongoing litigation cases
• Handle complaints and administer claims related to civil and premises liability, rental properties, and pre-litigation matters
• Ensure proper document management using tools like Adobe Acrobat and 3M
• Write and review legal briefings as part of litigation management
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Requirements • Possess a detail-oriented degree in law, preferably with a specialization in litigation.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an in-house environment.
• Proficiency in 3M and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
• Familiarity with case management software and document management is expected.
• Demonstrated ability in briefing, civil litigation, claim administration, and complaint handling.
• Expertise in premises liability and liability defense is a must.
• Experience with rental properties is strongly desired.
• Proven skills in litigation management are necessary.
• Pre-litigation experience is highly advantageous.
