Your contribution at AIG
As a contributor at AIG you are the one the clients turn to in times of need. You act with speed, composure, compassion and knowledge to solve problems and the work you do every day is the heart of AIG’s business.
Our Engineers are responsible for conducting an ongoing quality control program that frequently tests the accuracy of damage evaluations by vendors or panel shops. You will be responsible for recording benchmarks and communication of results to key stakeholders.
Key activities
+ Being a vehicle and motor engineering subject matter expert
+ Support colleagues and providing knowledge and experience to help progress claims.
+ Review all damage repair estimates providing a consistent approach and in a timely manner.
+ Review / Investigate, challenging repair estimates where appropriate, making sure fair and adequate cost controls are in place whilst achieving the best customer and commercial outcomes.
+ Support and help manage our TPPD strategy and cost controlling initiatives.
+ Work with external engineering assessors and network services making sure fair and adequate cost control are in place whilst achieving the best customer and commercial outcomes.
+ Follow total loss procedures to conform to FCA and Consumer Duty guidelines.
+ Supporting, reviewing, and undertaking appropriate audits on vendors as required.
+ Helping develop and grow our Engineering best practice and capability through identifying opportunities to continuously improve skills, knowledge, and processes.
+ Support our Claims Management team, Brokers, Underwriters and CALM, s in attending customer meetings to help progress claims, provide technical input or to assist with complaint resolution.
+ Reporting key metrics to Senior Management team.
+ Working alongside out SIU team to identify and tackle fraud.
What you'll need to succeed:
+ Experience as a Motor Engineer based in the field or in house.
+ A motor vehicle body or mechanical apprenticeship (City and Guilds / NVQ level 1 and 2 (Body or Mechanical)
+ In depth motor trade knowledge in vehicle body, paint or mechanical repairs
+ Experience of Audatex and or other estimating systems.
+ Have an understanding of Thatcham escribe principles and methods.
+ Knowledge of Insurance principles including FCA / Consumer duty compliance
+ Experience of claims processes
+ Knowledge of Glass’s and Cap Valuation services.
+ Experience with Total loss vehicle evaluation.
+ Knowledge of the Salvage code of practice, salvage handling and processing
