This position involves analyzing inbound volumes and balancing variances between pickup and delivery plans to ensure the seamless flow of merchandise into our Distribution Centers.

 

Building strong relationships with the Burlington merchandising team and key vendors in the West Coast commercial zone is essential for enhancing vendor routing and pickups, while also minimizing dwell times and costs for our dedicated fleet. As the key liaison between our dedicated providers and distribution centers, this leader will shape the inbound delivery schedule and prioritize trailer unloading, ensuring that empty equipment is retrieved efficiently from the DCs. This proactive approach will help us meet target dwell times and maintain optimal equipment and yard capacity levels at both Burlington and carrier locations.

 

A Day In The Life:

Review and manage carrier pickup and delivery schedules to support balanced flow of merchandise into Burlington DC’s.Oversee carrier routes, driver utilization, and capacity plans for maximum utilization of West Coast carrier capacity. Drive improvement in carrier efficient route planning, driver, and equipment utilization.Leverage reporting and partnerships with key internal stakeholders to lead the inbound prioritization planning efforts and make strategic decisions on prioritization of inbound schedules and trailer unloading.Lead West Coast vendor and carrier ship window compliance program.Develop new strategies and analyze current reporting to identify areas of opportunity and drive KPI improvements.Implement and oversee operational changes.

 

You'll Come With:

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Supply Chain/Business-related field.Requires 3-5 + years’ experience in Logistics/Transportation or related field.Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics to benchmark/track performance.Working knowledge Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferably Manhattan.Deep understanding of consolidation and private fleet operations.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Detail oriented with a strong desire to identify trends.Requires familiarity with transportation procedures and processes.Require high level of proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel to analyze data and produce reporting for all levels of the business.
