This position reports to the Director of Distribution.
Responsibilities Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures Develop employees through coaching, goal-setting conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Inbound Department; analyze inbound volumes to maximize efficiency Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; plan and schedule labour on a daily basis and assist in annual labour budget process Manage the receiving schedule including planning for seasonal changes Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving Inbound Reporting Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates Ensure all loads are picked and shipped accurately and damage-free within set time schedules Conduct reviews for accuracy with inventory team Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures Achieve departmental goals through effective staff management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; post secondary education an asset Minimum 4 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail; Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory controlled environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques Proficient with Microsoft Office programs Self motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic Superior planning and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize Why The Brick?
