We are looking for a passionate, curious, ambitious, and collaborative consultant to facilitate the growth of a world class inclusive design program for a key client account. Our client is a recognized leader in accessibility and creating inclusive products. This is a high profile role where you will have a significant impact on helping multiple product teams design better experiences for millions of users globally. To be successful, you will need expertise in digital accessibility and inclusive design principles for web, mobile, and desktop applications. You will need to be collaborative, a strong communicator, and excited to continually develop a world class program with our client. What you’ll be doing Program advocacy + Working with our client and Applause’s Program Management Team, develop an effective outreach program to educate multiple product teams on the benefits of inclusive design and specifics of the program. This includes participating in meetings to evangelize and explain the program + Help grow program awareness and understanding through contributing to white papers, success stories, and publishing key metrics Consulting + Working with individual teams, provide input and feedback on their inclusive design journey. This could be for new teams that need guidance on what to do or teams that are implementing product changes based on in depth research + For new teams, you will perform design reviews to help teams understand where they are on their inclusive design journey. You will consult with teams to provide a roadmap to help them improve inclusivity including providing advice on relevant resources, tools, activities, and the need for in depth inclusive design research + For teams in the process of implementing changes, conduct regular check-ins to track team's performance, provide feedback, and offer guidance to address any challenges Inclusive Design Research + Partner with a team of inclusive design researchers, providing input and feedback to team members as they plan and moderate research studies and create insights and recommendations. + Ensure that deliverables meet Applause’s high-quality standards + Lead client meetings to deliver the research results and co-develop a next steps roadmap with measurable outcomes Program level consulting + Partner with Applause team members to develop regular reporting on activity and outcomes for the program + Participate in quarterly business reviews + Provide strategic input on ongoing overall program design, assessing gaps and providing ideas and recommendations for continued improvement. Work with the client to implement changes What we are looking for + Excellent consulting skills demonstrated by being proactive, thinking with the end in mind, aligning stakeholders, and seeking to understand divergent viewpoints + A background in digital accessibility and any of the UX Design disciplines, such as Interaction Design, Content Design, or UX Research + 3 to 5+ years professional experience in the accessibility and inclusive design space + Strong knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines, and familiarity with assistive technologies and their usage patterns. + Strong understanding usability principles and accessibility heuristics + Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver on time + Solid background partnering with product designers at all stages of the product development process + Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills Bonus if you have + Experience in providing training or workshops on accessibility + Experience working with applications used by developers and business users + Located in Seattle Metro area preferred, or ability up to 20% travel as needed Base Salary: + $120,000 - $160,000 USD Salary range for this position is included in accordance with current state/local pay transparency legislation.
