Income Qualified Program Advisor – Bill Assistance

Become an Income Qualified Program (IQP) Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Bill Assistance Program operations team, supporting the CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy) and FERA (Family Electric Rate Assistance) programs, along with other bill assistance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in helping eligible customers access financial assistance for their utility bills, ensuring they receive the necessary support to manage their energy costs. Additionally, the Program Advisor will oversee the effective implementation and operation of these programs, with a focus on managing system-related enhancements and monitoring and documenting processes.

 

Furthermore, this role will integrate energy savings initiatives with bill assistance programs, promoting energy efficiency measures that help customers reduce their overall energy consumption and costs. By combining financial assistance with energy-saving strategies, the Program Advisor will contribute to a more sustainable and cost-effective energy future for our customers.

Responsibilities Leads initiatives on energy efficiency and demand response programs to optimize energy usage during peak periods Communicates program events to leadership and senior individual contributors Incorporates complex energy usage data, load patterns, and grid conditions to recommend potential opportunities and optimize program effectiveness Leads meetings with internal teams, such as grid operations, customer service, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of programs with overall utility operations and customer engagement efforts Recommends compliance and regulatory requirements and guidelines related to programs, including reporting obligations and adherence to program rules and protocols Endorses program cost effectiveness ideas and identify areas for improvement for all program related activities (i.e. training) Leads in meetings with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and technology providers, to stay informed about industry trends, share best practices, and foster collaboration for the advancement of programs Serves as an expert and training lead for all program related topics Leads engagement activities to promote program related information at outreach events A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Seven or more years of experience in demand response principles, leading customer programs, or conservation/efficiency initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in managing income qualified programs and other bill assistance initiatives Knowledge of utility rates and the customer billing processes Experience leading integration of robotics solutions into existing systems to streamline operations and increase automation Experience with SAP or similar enterprise wide system Strong program management skills or PMP certification Ability to effectively create and conduct presentations to diverse audiences, including work groups, workshops, and public forums

 

Additional Information 

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
