About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager with a strong affinity for software, IT services and IT procurement in total. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the software industry (or is willing to develop this understanding), excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex procurement processes. This role is critical in ensuring that our company acquires the best software solutions and IT services at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and aligned with Barco’s global SW.IT strategy.
You will report to the Manager Indirect Procurement Team, as part of the Global Procurement Organisation and will work closely together with the SW.IT organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies for software and IT services, aligned with the global SW.IT strategy Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with software vendors and IT service providers. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure alignment of procurement strategies. Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations to optimize spend and supplier performance.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions. Cost Management: Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions. Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations. Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed procurement decisions. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with software and IT procurement. Collaboration: Work closely with SW.IT, legal, and finance teams to align procurement activities with company goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field , or similar by experience Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably with a focus on software and IT, or within a SW.IT organisation with a focus on cost and value creation. Skills: Strong negotiation, commercial and contract management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent stakeholder management skillsKnowledge: procurement processes and/or software licensing models, IT services, and market dynamics, or the willingness to learn any of the above missing knowledge fields.
