A Day in the Life
 As an Indirect Tax Accountant, you’ll start your day by preparing multistate sales and use tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You’ll spend time reconciling monthly tax accruals and staying up to date on the latest tax laws. Throughout the day, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and respond to inquiries, maintaining key records like exemption certificates and property tax data. Every day brings new challenges, but your strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills ensure that our tax processes run smoothly and efficiently.

 

“Must Haves”

Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field.At least 2 years of relevant experience in sales and use tax compliance with multistate filing responsibilities.Technical expertise in sales and use tax compliance.Knowledge of U.S. indirect tax laws with problem-solving skills to handle complex filing requirements.Experience preparing multistate filings for multiple entities.Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, Outlook, Oracle, and Vertex.The ability to juggle tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.Clear and effective communication skills.Indirect tax research experience.Experience with general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

“What You’ll Do”

Prepare and file sales and use tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Create workpapers and documentation to support filings.Reconcile monthly sales and use tax accruals.Stay up-to-date on sales and use tax laws relevant to our business.Manage exemption/resale certificates and other key records.Respond promptly to questions from internal and external stakeholders.Maintain fixed asset databases and all records for property tax compliance.Support other tax-related projects and filings as needed.
