Indirect Tax Manager - Interim

Job Summary

Following the extended scope of the VAT team at the ASSC and the integration of the new VAT registrations, the Indirect Tax manager will be responsible to oversee IFF’s centralized indirect tax affairs under the Asturias Center. You will be tasked with the oversight of the indirect tax team, indirect tax compliance, indirect tax advisory and indirect tax controversy. Key responsibilities include engagement with tax advisors and tax authorities, identifying and bringing forward indirect tax planning opportunities and cash management initiatives.

​Job Description:

Ensure IFF indirect tax compliance obligations for various countries under responsibility are met – support data collection, review indirect tax returns before submission, work with tax advisor to ensure timely filing of the returns.

Support the integration of the new registrations, and act as a primary point of contact for tax advisors and local tax authorities on local tax audits and other indirect tax related matters.

Be a business partner and provide indirect tax advice to the business and keep them informed about updates in indirect tax legislation.

Identify tax efficiencies and planning and work on implementing same.

Active involvement in global tax planning and M&A projects, as a VAT advisory.

Regular feedback and strong support to the team members to maintain the high quality of reports and grow the team’s tax technical skills.

Ensure the VAT control framework is maintained for SOX, Internal Audit and recommend improvements to tax related systems and internal controls.

Identify tax risk and ensure compliance with IFF tax governance and risk management frameworks.

Your requirements:

Degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics.

Ideally 7+ years of experience within a multinational business and either legal or accounting firm experience.

Strong knowledge of European and International indirect tax rules.

Fluency in English required. Fluency in Spanish / German / French is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint, and relevant exposure in using tax and accounting solutions will be an advantage.

Demonstrate their potential to become the trusted partner of multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Can-do attitude, ambitious, proactive, ready to embrace and deliver change.

Team player – willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others within and outside the tax team.
