Role description:

The Indirect Tax Specialist will be assisting with indirect tax (sales tax, use tax, GST, and Property Tax) compliance obligations, tax audits, preparing and maintaining tax documents (e.g. tax guidelines, compliance manuals, etc.) assisting with implementing new indirect tax solutions and processes and maintaining the ERP-system (Oracle Cloud) for the north America region (USA and Canada)

Role accountabilities:

The indirect tax specialist will work in close cooperation with Finance, Legal, Treasury and Tax departments. The role is focused on indirect tax compliance and indirect tax Advisory. More specifically the tasks and responsibilities will include: 

(Inter)national project and VAT queries

Assisting with the determination of indirect tax effects of proposed business transactions for the north America region. Pro-actively think along with the business to come up with suitable solutions from an indirect tax perspective. Assist with any indirect tax related questions of the AP and AR teams of the north America region.

Tax control framework

Assist with building, improving, and maintaining the indirect tax control framework for the north America region. This covers the indirect tax processes and all indirect tax documents needed. Assist with updating and maintaining indirect tax documents, especially the indirect tax compliance documentation.

Oracle

Initiate, execute and assist with developing, maintaining, and updating the ERP-system (Oracle Cloud) from a tax perspective for the north America region.

VAT compliance

Assisting with indirect tax compliance (including preparation of VAT refund claims) in the north America region. Assist with tax audits for sales and use tax and property tax where needed for the north America region. Assist with development of policies and guidelines for indirect tax compliance and reporting for the north America region.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, CPA or equivalent certification is

preferred, with 8-10 years’ experience in Indirect tax with focus on VAT and Sales

and use tax.

Solid experience with VAT compliance and assisting internal stakeholders getting indirect tax questions addressed within multinational organization(s). Proven ability to implement process improvements Exposure in Shared service or Multinational environment is an advantage Strong analytic skills and experience working with Oracle as Arcadis’ Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferred. Basic computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications Result oriented and attention to details Communicate effectively both verbal and written Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proactive and a committed team player Can work on flexible hours to meet changing work environment and to meet tighdeadlines
