Manages the tax liability of the company including the planning, accounting, filing, and reporting process; gathers information for purposes of satisfying income tax requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
Manages a team to ensure CVX Tax compliance, and alignment with Company objectives. Direct reports are typically individual contributors.
**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:**
+ Supervise and provide work direction to the team.
+ Review and approve tax returns and supporting documentation to ensure taxes are properly and accurately collected and payments are timely submitted to taxing authorities in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
+ Ensure accurate accounting of excise taxes and related costs.
+ Analyze statutory and regulatory tax changes to identify any process changes required to ensure compliance.
+ Applies knowledge of Chevron`s business segments, value chain and key performance indicators
+ Interact and collaboratively work with other leaders from US Excise Tax, FSS - BA teams and with the business partners.
+ Work closely with external state agencies, auditors, customers, and various other Chevron accounting/finance personnel.
+ Focus on people development, organizational capabilities, resource management.
+ Special projects as directed by department management.
**Required Qualifications/Soft skills:**
+ Preferred experience on Excise tax processes, risks, and controls.
+ Uses effective oral/written English skills to present facts.
+ Leadership skills and building relationships.
+ Able to adapt processes in response to a fast-paced environment
+ Fluent in ERP/Tax systems or PC applications.
