Indirect Taxes Manager - Siemens Financial Services

Position Overview

The Indirect Taxes Manager (Financial Services) is part of the accounting organization of SFS Americas and reports to the Head of Accounting for SFS Americas (SFS AC PF AM). The position holder is an experienced indirect tax professional and analyst with strong analytical and financial services background.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Expert to oversee, manage and optimize US sales and property tax processes within our leasing business. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, exceptional communication and networking skills, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency, automation and compliance in our operations. The individual is responsible to manage the outsourcing relationships to our tax service providers.

The position is located in Iselin (NJ) but also includes business trips to Malvern (PA) as position-relevant leasing business is managed there.

Responsibilities

Own the sales and property tax process (end-to-end) within SFS US, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and be the first point of contact for indirect taxes topics within SFS US. Collaborate with relevant business process owners, mainly lease operations, collections, asset management, and operational finance to ensure seamless end-to-end integration of indirect tax-relevant processes. Oversee internal service providers (GBS AM R2R US Tax) and external service providers for the preparation and filing of sales and property tax returns and of refund claims, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure monthly reconciliation of tax accounts between tax accounts in the general ledger and the indirect taxes sub ledger resp. the leasing contract management system. Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions, ensure timely collection of tax credits, and minimize liabilities. Conduct regular reviews of indirect tax-related processes to identify areas for improvement and automation and implement corrective actions. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the business. Provide guidance and training to teams on tax-related matters

You will impress us with the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and property tax management, preferably within the leasing industry. Strong knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, with a focus on sales and property taxes and of lease accounting (IFRS preferred). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong networking abilities as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in tax software (Vertex), SAP and Microsoft Office Suite including data analytics (PowerBI). Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

You’ll benefit from:

The pay range for this position is $100.450 - $172,200 plus incentive plan. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
