Starting rate for experienced Industrial Butcher (3+ years of experience) is $22.95 / hour
Starting rate for entry level (less than 3 years of experience) is $21.25 / hour

Principal Accountabilities

Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knivesSkin, clean and trim carcassesRemove viscera and other inedible parts from carcassesSplit carcasses into smaller portions to facilitate handlingMay slaughter cattle as prescribed by religious lawsWork with specialized knives and equipment according to workplace health and safety requirements as well as safe food handling practices

Required Qualifications

Must be 18 years or olderMust be currently legal to work in CanadaMinimum of 2 years industrial butchering experience in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience in meat processing and packing environment using manual cutting utensils and band saws
